4th Tuesday of Lent

We buried a parishioner this morning.  I didn’t know him well, though I had visited him in the hospital and had taken communion to him at home.  As we were waiting for the funeral to begin I learned that the deceased and I shared a common hobby, stained glass.  In fact, he had made the windows in the doors of the church.

This isn’t the first time this has happened.  Only after someone has died, I have learned something interesting about them that I wish I had been able to discuss with them while they were still here.

My thought for today is that we should make an effort to find out something interesting about everyone we know.  When they’ve been called home, it’s too late.
